BEA Details
BookExpo America is coming to New York City May 25 through May 27, and comics continue to make more and more of an impression at the event. The annual conference celebrates the biggest publishing in America (and draws exhibitors from around the globe), but with comics, graphic novels, and manga taking an ever-bigger chunk of the industry's sales, comics publishers are getting in on the action as well. That's evident in the panels and speeches made during the event as well, and this year, I'm happy to be moderating a panel that will be of particular interest to librarians (but to general readers as well). It's called "Hot Fall Graphic Novels for Libraries," and it'll take place on Thursday, May 27, from 2:30 to 3:30 in Room 1E14 of the Javits Center. Several prominent librarians will be on the panel to talk about their favorite selections coming out later this year. If you're attending BEA this year, I hope you'll be able to make this panel!
