“You need to see it to believe it,” owner Greg Gowens says of his store, Quest Comic Shop in Carrollton, Georgia. Since beginning the store in 1985, when he was still in college and it was just “something to do,” Gowens has made the store a staple for comics lovers in the Atlanta area. But he still says his favorite thing related to owning a comic store is “travelling to the conventions to find ‘stuff’ for my customers.”

 
In the past quarter-century, Gowens has built up a large clientele by offering such services as gaming on the weekends, regional events, birthday club gift certificates, and Free Comic Book Day specials. The store, Gowens says, attracts a lot of professionals, including many doctors and lawyers.
 
Perhaps the most noticeable thing about Quest Comic Shop is its immense size. With 5,000 square feet for a sales floor, plus an additional 5,000 square feet for a gaming area, Quest is huge.
 
“We have been in business for almost 25 years,” Gowens says. “We focus on customer service beyond everything else.”
