Pryde and Glory
Kitty Pryde has done her part to help save the world ever since she was 13, when she joined the X-Men. Now she's helping fight hemophilia! More than 70 artists have contributed their own takes on Kitty Pryde for a special auction that will benefit the Oregon Hemophilia Treatment Center. The auction is being sponsored by Portland's Floating World Comics, which is where the event will be held on Thursday, May 7th, from 6 to 10 p.m. The shop is located at 20 NW 5th Ave., #101.
This will be a nice way to do some good and contribute to a very worthy cause while also enjoying a unique look at one of the most popular X-characters of all time. Kitty has been stealing hearts since she first burst onto the scene in Uncanny X-Men #129 (way back in 1980). This auction will include work by artists like Barnaby Ward, who did the drawing you see here, as well as dozens of others, like Jeffrey Brown, Stanley Chow, Daniel Knapp, Hope Larson, Bryan O'Malley, and many others. The auction came about through an idea from Douglas E. Sherwood of Oni Press and Jason Leivian of Floating World. Good luck with the event, and if you're in the Portland area on May 7, go and show your love for Kitty Pryde and your support for the Oregon Hemophilia Treatment Center!
